Where did Our Sense of Humor Go?

Where did our sense of humor go?
I don't hear it.
I don't feel it.
I don't see it,
have we lost it?

Where has our sense of humor gone? We're not laughing,
we're crying.
We're not giggling,
we're sighing.

Are we too busy complaining
and draining?
Are we too busy judging
and not budging?

Where did our sense of humor go?
We're all so serious,
has life put the fear into us?
We're no longer spontaneous
and silly ignoramuses.

The power of laughter can't be forgotten.
It heals us and moves us.
It reveals us and improves us.

Humor is lost to a world that's sarcastic.
Humor is lost to a world that's bombastic.

Nothing good has come,
from our loathing and goading.
Nothing good will come,
from our exaggerations
and inflations.

We have to be up
and see a full cup.
We have to be open
and not coverup.

It's good to be silly
but we don't have to be drunk.
It's  good to be funny
and we don't have to be Monks.

If we laugh out loud,
for no reason at all.
Maybe our  sense of humor,
will finally be recalled.
