Excess Baggage.

Imagine if my heart was like a travel bag.
I've packed it with too much stuff and I can't do up the zip.
I'll have to pull everything out and work out what I really need,
to make this journey ahead.

I would start by paring it back to the bare essentials and repack these and see if there is any room after that.

The baggage that we carry around personally, do we need all of it.
What are the basics?

-Love of self.
-Self-confidence.
-Love for God.
-Love for family.
-Love for friends.
-Gratitude.
-Inspiration.
-Caring.
-Compassion.
-Humility.
-Courage.
-Kindness.
-Fearlessness.
-Sense of humor.
-Virtues.
-Discrimination.
-Peace.
-Forgiveness.
-Nonviolence.
-Patience.
-Righteousness -
check.

So we've packed the essentials, our clothes, toiletries, emergency phone numbers , snacks, first aid kit, torch, raincoat, umbrella, and guidebooks etc...

Now, what are we leaving behind?
All of our attachments,
our emotional love,
judgements,
conditions,
expectations
and vices.
All of our jealousies,
and anger ,
our frustrations,
our lack of self-worth and love,
our guilt and our shame,
our hurts and our resentments.
Our desires and wants,
our immaturity and selfishness.

We carry so much extra stuff, that most don't have room for the essentials.
We've chucked out the essentials, to make room for the inessentials.
We've lost our power of discrimination, discernment and intuition.
The human qualities, that raise us above the level of animals.

When are you going to repack your bag and work out what you really need and leave behind the rest?

We don't need to steal,
to find what is real.
We don't need a whole lot,
to discover what's not.
We just need a small bag of essentials, to realize the indispensable.
And just a little room for a surprise, that just might arise.

A Treasure Map for the Heart.

Like a bird who feels happy,
bound by the cage of his home,
so to, the soul feels joy,
trapped, in this body alone.

It is only in oneness,
that our hearts can cut loose,
in those brief special moments,
when our mind calls a truce.

It is in those sweet, split seconds, when we listen to the wind,
that we finally here,
the supreme silence within.

It is only with faith,
that we can finally succeed,
it is only with faith,
that we will finally know,
what we need.

It is only when we realize,
that we are but His humble servant,
that our lives will no longer be,
one long unchecked,
adjournment.

When we no longer sit around,
waiting for the lottery of His luminescence
and start working for the paycheque,
of his sweet and unique lessons.

Then, we will finally begin,
the first day of our lives,
no longer dredging through ,
old outdated archives.

The name of a colour won't describe its true essence,
it's only upon seeing,
that we can know,
of a Divine incandescence.

He's waiting for us,
to finally see,
that, that bird in the cage,
is actually,
free.....!!!!

Allah Malik
Namaste
Om Mani Padme Hum
Amen.....

The Big Jigsaw Puzzle called Life.

Our lives are like a big jigsaw puzzle,
at some point we get stuck,
and frustrated
and want to give up.

But then we get thrown a little piece,
that has us on your way again.

It can to an outsider, seem almost trivial,
such a small piece.

But it fits and has us on our way.

We see the connectedness and get a
glimpse of 'His Grand Plan.'

The big 'Jigsaw Puzzle of Life.'

It tickles our souls
and we smile the biggest smile
and it's contagious....

Happy B'day Chris

Happy birthday to my nephew,
may life bless you and take your hand.

May it lead you on an adventure,
that is big and bold and grand.

I pray you and your true love,
can smile, at all you're dealt.

I pray you love your journey and find, what makes you melt.

You're courageous and you're true, you're disciplined and you're strong.

I just know that life will sing to you,
a sweet and heartfelt,
song....

Luv you Tough Guy.
